With Conditional Blocks, you can use sections that toggle on or off based on recipient data instead of creating multiple versions of the same email for different countries or segments.
This article explains how to use Conditional Logic in our email builder to show different content to different audiences in a single email.
1. Organize Your Content into Sections
Before applying conditions to the email sections, ensure the content you want to toggle is ready.
Identify the unique content (e.g., a Canadian flag for one group, an American flag for another).
Place these elements into distinct sections (indicated by a purple border in the builder).
Here's how you can add a section to your email body:
2. Prepare Your Segments
Conditional logic relies on pre-defined segments. Ensure you have created segments in your database based on the criteria you want to filter by, such as:
Country Code (e.g., "Canadians" or "Americans").
Donation History (e.g., "Donated over $100").
3. Apply the Conditional Logic
Once your layout and segments are ready, follow these steps to hide or show the sections:
Select the Section: Click on the section you wish to make conditional.
Add Condition: Click the "Add Condition" button in the section settings.
Select Segment: Choose the corresponding segment from your list.
Example: For the section containing the Canadian flag, select the "Canadians" segment.
Repeat: Do the same for other sections intended for different audiences.
Why Use Conditional Logic?
Using this method is often more efficient than creating separate email campaigns because:
Single Audience Management: You can send to one master list (e.g., "All Donors") rather than managing multiple sub-lists.
Efficiency: You only need to edit the core message once; only the specific "conditional" sections change.
Personalization: It creates a tailored experience for the recipient without the administrative overhead of multiple drafts.
