Can I create free events (zero-cost tickets)?
Yes!
Can I create promo codes for discounted and/or free tickets?
Yes, you can create promo codes that enable you to offer discounted or zero-cost tickets to select ticket buyers.
To do so, go to the Events page in your Donorbox account and click “Promo Codes” in the appropriate event. Then, follow the simple steps to set up your own codes. This Promo Codes page is also where a list of your existing codes for that event will live, and where you can edit, pause, restart, or delete codes as needed.
You may create an unlimited number of promo codes for each event at no additional cost. Discounts may be flat amounts ($10 off) or they may be percentage-based (a 10% discount) and are applied to the entire order, instead of just specific ticket tiers, at this time.
You may edit a promo code at any time before it is used and you can also deactivate and reactivate codes, allowing you to offer certain discounts for a limited time. There is currently no limit to how many times a promo code can be used to purchase tickets at a discount.
The discount is applied to the order total before tax. The promo code also deducts the discount for fair market value (FMV) first, ensuring your donors can still claim as much of their ticket tax-deductible as possible.

Is there a limit to the number of ticket types I can create?

Can I set a limit to how many tickets are sold?
Yes, you can set a ticket quantity for each ticket type. When you are building your event form, simply add the appropriate ticket quantity you have available to each ticketing tier you create. Once this ticket quantity limit is reached, your form will automatically close sales for just that tier. Your ticket buyers will also be able to see the number of tickets remaining as well as if that tier is sold out on your form.
Can I set a deadline for my ticket sales?
Yes, this is possible with Events. When creating or editing your event, simply select the checkbox in the Deadline to Buy Tickets section and pick a date in the calendar. On this date, your ticket form will automatically close to the public at 11:59 p.m. in the time zone selected in your organization settings.
How are the tickets distributed?
After a buyer has purchased the tickets, they'll be emailed a receipt, as well as PDFs and links to individual tickets that they can print or download. The receipt will also include the tax-deductible amount (if any).
In addition, the emailed tickets will feature a QR code and numeric check-in code that can be used to check in when arriving at the event. These codes are unique to each ticket.
Can I offer refunds to my ticket buyers?
You can offer full refunds to your ticket buyers via the Events feature - partial refunds, however, are not possible. Visit the page for the applicable event, click on the transaction, and select “Refund” to issue the refund.
Can I embed the ticket form onto my own website?
Yes, you can! Visit the Events page on your dashboard, select “Embed Form Code” on the appropriate event, and follow the instructions to copy the code and add it to your website.
Can I generate a QR code for my event form?
Yes! A unique QR code is automatically generated for each event and is free to use. Simply select ‘QR Code’ on the appropriate event and follow the instructions to share the QR code with your ticket buyers.
Can I check guests in using Donorbox Events?
Yes! Our Ticket Check-In feature lets you check your guests in when they arrive at your event.
