Here are the steps involved in migrating the existing Stripe subscriptions to Donorbox.
1. Provide us with the list of Stripe subscriptions that need to be migrated to Donorbox in a CSV file with the following information:
- Stripe customer ID
- Stripe payment method ID
- First name
- Last name
- Amount
- Currency
- Current due date
- Frequency (Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Annual)
- Address details (optional)
- Donorbox campaign name
You can use this template to create the CSV file. Please don't forget to make a copy of the file. To learn how to make a copy, please see this video.
You need to send the file to our support email, support@donorbox.org.
2. Depending on how the card objects are being represented on Stripe, we may require a copy request to be initiated with Stripe to copy customer records to the Donorbox platform account.
3. Once the copy is completed, we can decide on an activation date, from when Donorbox should begin processing the donations for the migrating donors.
4. Based on the activation date, we will update the due dates and set up the recurring plans in your Donorbox account. With this, you and your donors will be able to log in to Donorbox and manage their recurring plans.

- An account setup email will be sent to the donors. Below is a preview of the account setup email. If you wish not to send this email, we can disable it too.
5. We will confirm when the setup is complete; you will then have to disable the processing on your current platform. Future donations will be processed by Donorbox.
Note: The migration of your live recurring donations is estimated to take 4 to 6 weeks. However, please understand that this is an estimate. Depending on the complexity of your migration, the actual time required may be shorter or longer.
