When will funds get transferred to our bank account?

Donorbox uses Stripe and PayPal as its payment processors. Your donations flow directly from the donor to your Stripe/PayPal, depending on what type of donation they made. PayPal donations will go directly to your connected PayPal account. The rest will go directly to your connected Stripe account. The funds are never held by Donorbox, not even temporarily.

Stripe and PayPal each have their own policies regarding how often they payout, how long it takes to process funds, etc. Here's a short breakdown of how they handle your funds and how long it will take to reach your bank account:

Stripe Donations

Stripe will automatically transfer your funds from your Stripe account to your bank account based on the settings in your transfer schedule. In the USA, Canada, and Australia, transfers will automatically be completed every 2 business days. However, your first transfer may take a little longer, around 7 days. In most other countries, transfers are set to be completed every 7 business days. 

You can access a summary of past and upcoming payouts, along with estimated dates of when they will reflect in your bank account (see image below).

PayPal Donations

Unlike Stripe, PayPal requires you to initiate the transfer of your funds from your PayPal account to your bank account. After you’ve initiated the transfer, the funds will arrive in your bank account within 2 to 3 business days.

ACH Donations

ACH is only available for U.S.-based organizations that have a U.S. Stripe account.

 

ACH payouts will ultimately depend on what payout schedule your connected Stripe account has. It may take up to 5 business days to receive acknowledgment of the success or failure for each ACH payment from Stripe. Unlike cards, Stripe requires confirmation from the bank itself so it takes a few days before they can confirm the status of ACH payments.

 

Once Stripe confirms the ACH payment is successful, they will then proceed with the payout depending on the schedule set on your transfer schedule. You can set it to where you receive ACH funds as soon as 2 business days, or the maximum which is every 7 business days (ACH payouts are also transferred automatically to your connected bank account).
