If you plan to leave your Donorbox Live kiosk unattended, you can set your tablet to Kiosk Mode. Kiosk Mode helps to prevent anyone from tampering with your Android device, exiting the Donorbox Live app, or otherwise misconfiguring your device.
To enable Kiosk Mode on your device, first, enable the ability to pin apps in Android. Open your device Settings, then head over to your Security and Privacy Settings. (Note: this might change depending on your device’s brand). Find the “Pin windows” option and enable it.
Please ensure that “Ask for PIN” is also turned on. It will use the same PIN you use to unlock the device.
Once this has been enabled, you'll be able to pin apps. You can launch the Donor View on the Card Reader app, and then swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold. This will take you to the Multitasking view.
On the Multitasking view, tap the icon of the Donorbox Card Reader app. Then click the “Pin this app” option in the menu.
Once you've pinned the app, your device will be fixed to display only the Donorbox card reader app, and it won’t be possible to do anything else on the device.
If you need to exit Kiosk Mode, you’ll have to press a combination that will vary according to your device’s manufacturer, either by swiping up and holding or pressing the back and multitasking buttons at the same time. You'll need to check your specific device's instructions on how to exit pin mode.
Note: if your device's instructions don't match the above, please check the official Google instructions on how to pin apps on a device.
